SmarTots, a Beijing, China-based mobile education platform for children ages 2-7, closed a Series A financing of undisclosed amount.
The round was led by SoftBank‘s SB Pan-Asia Fund, which is managed by SoftBank Ventures Korea, with participation from existing investors Xu Xiaoping, Angelvest, SOSVentures and ChinaRock Capital Management.
The company intends to use the capital to increase their position in the Chinese market by partnering with app developers, acquiring content and expanding to Google’s Android mobile operating system.
Launched in 2011 by CEO Jesper Lodahl, SmarTots provides children with mobile apps from around the world and allows parents to engage with their child’s app learning world. The company currently offers 26 kids apps in China.
