Contactually, a Washington D.C.-based technology provider of a new marketing channel focusing on managing professional relationships, raised $1m in seed funding.
The round was led by Point Nine Capital and Boston Seed Capital, with participation from existing investors 500 Startups and previous angel investors.
The company intends to use the funding to develop and scale its sales and development teams, to focus on partnerships with other complementary SaaS products, made possible by its API.
Founded in 2011 by Zvi Band, Tony Cappaert and Jeff Carbonella, Contactually provides a SaaS platform that that helps professionals in relationship-driven businesses retain mindshare and generate business and referrals from the people in their network. The solution integrates with email, social networks, and CRM tools to keep contacts up-to-date and in sync across users’ entire network.
The company also provides an API enabling third-party software providers to access the rich contact data and communication histories that users can access on the native platform.
Contactually currently supports Gmail, Google Apps, IMAP, and Microsoft Exchange email. It integrates with Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as well as tools like Salesforce, Do.com (Salesforce’s task management platform), Google Contacts, Highrise, Pipedrive, SugarCRM and MailChimp.
