PHD Virtual Technologies, a Philadelphia, PA-based developer of virtual machine backup, recovery, and virtualization monitoring solutions, raised $4m in funding.
The financing includes $2m in Series C funding led by current investors Insight Venture Partners and Citrix (NASDAQ: CTXS), and a $2m venture debt financing from Wellington Financial.
The company intends to use the capital to continue to develop its technology and expand sales (into Europe) and product development efforts.
Founded in 2005 and led by James Legg, President and CEO, PHD Virtual provides virtual backup and monitoring solutions for VMware and Citrix platforms. The PHD Virtual Backup and Replication provides advanced data protection powered by the company’s virtual backup appliance architecture. The PHD Virtual Monitor is a monitoring, performance analysis, resource optimization and management reporting solution for physical, virtual and cloud environments.
The company serves more than 5,000 customers worldwide.
