ShareThis, a Palo Alto, CA-based social sharing platform, has raised $23M in Series C financing.
The round was led by T-Venture, with participation from new investors Harbourton and corporate funds represented by West Capital Advisors as well as existing investors Blue Chip Venture Company, DFJ, Illinois Ventures, Matthew Pritzker Company, Mercury Fund and RPM Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Bernhard Gold of T-Venture will join the company’s Board of Directors.
ShareThis plans to use the new funding for product development and market expansion.
Led by Kurt Abrahamson, CEO, ShareThis has also acquired Socialize, which provides app developers with a drop-in social solution. With this acquisition, the company has created a unified platform across desktop, mobile web browser and in-app environments, extending its reach to the mobile app ecosystem.
