Xeros Limited, a Rotherham, UK-based environmentally-friendly cleaning company, raised an additional £10m in funding.
The round was led by Invesco Perpetual managed funds, which invested £6m, with participation from existing investors Enterprise Ventures, IP Group, Entrepreneurs Fund, Finance Yorkshire, and Parkwalk Advisors, which committed the remaining £4m.
The company intends to use the capital to accelerate the roll-out of its commercial laundry cleaning system and complete the development of a household system to replace conventional washing machines.
Led by CEO Bill Westwater, Xeros has developed a system to clean clothes with very little water using special polymer beads. The company’s solution comprises a special washing machine which uses up to 80% less water, 50% less energy and 50% less detergent than conventional washing.
