Donuts Inc., a Bellevue, Wash.-based registry for new generic top-level domain names (gTLDs) raised additional funding.
The financing (whose amount was not disclosed) includes a Series B equity investment led by existing investor Generation Partners, as well as additional financing from Columbia Partners Private Capital.
In 2012, Donuts had secured initial funding of more than $100m from venture capital and private equity funds and a bank (read here).
The company intends to use this additional capital to secure new gTLDs in the coming months.
Led by CEO and co-founder Paul Stahura, Donuts is a domain name registry that is widening competition in Internet identities through hundreds of new top-level domain name choices, securely operated in multiple languages and character sets.
The company also has offices in Southern California and Washington, D.C.
