According to the company’s blog (read here) Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) acquired Parse, a San Francisco, CA-based cloud-based platform that provides scalable cross-platform services and tools for developers.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition is aimed for Facebook to enable developers to build apps on mobile platforms and devices.
Parse allows developers to work with native objects that provide backend services for data storage, notifications, user management, etc. with no need to manage servers and a complex infrastructure.
Parse will continue offering their products and services.
