GoCardless, a London, UK-based payments company, raised $3.3m in funding.
Backers included Accel Partners and Passion Capital.
Founded in January 2011 by Matt Robinson, Tom Blomfield, and Hiroki Takeuchi, GoCardless offers a service for e-commerce sites, charities, contractors, friends to collect Direct Debits online.
To collect a payment, a user enters an amount and a description, and GoCardless generates a URL – the PayLink – that can be shared across the web. The online system handles the whole process.
