MetroWorks, Inc., a Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan-based crowdsourcing portal development software, raised funding from seed accelerator SunBridge Global Ventures Inc.
The amount of the investment, which was made through the SunBridge Startups LLP, was not disclosed.
Founded in 2010 by CEO Neil Butler, MetroWorks provides AtsumareCQ, crowdsourcing portal development software that enables low cost, high-quality crowdsourcing websites production. It also incorporates systems which conduct multi-layer checks on articles by ordinary participants who may not be specialists in content production, technology which automatically checks the text as well as systems which evaluate member abilities, enabling content quality management without cost.
Crowdsourcing websites using AtsumareCQ include English language travel website JapanTourist.jp aimed at tourists visiting Japan.
The company plans to develop globally with a focus on non-English speaking countries, starting with east Asian countries – China, Taiwan and South Korea – as well as South East Asia, India and the Middle East among other regions.
