The Hunt, a San Francisco, CA-based community-driven site that makes items on social media photos shoppable, raised an additional $700k in seed financing.
Backers included Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary‘s AGR-ade Investments, Rohan Oza, RedOne, Keli Lee, Anjula Acharia-Bath and Michael Banks.
The company intends to use the funding, which brings the company’s total seed round to $2.7m, to hire new engineers, ans expand its marketing efforts and operations.
Publicly launched in January 2013 by CEO Tim Weingarten and and Simon Peck, The Hunt promises to provide online shoppers with the opportunity to find and buy the products seen in images shared on blogs, photo apps and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Tumblr, based on suggestions from others, in real time.
