Luvocracy, a San Francisco, CA-based social marketplace that allows users to buy products recommended by friends, raised $11m in funding.
The round was led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers, with participation from:
– CrunchFund,
– Google Ventures,
– RPM Ventures,
– XG Ventures,
– Jim Lanzone, President of CBS Interactive,
– Carine Magescas, partner at Angelpad
– Marissa Mayer, CEO of Yahoo
– Ali Pincus, founder of One King’s Lane, and
– Tony Robbins, author and speaker.
In conjunction with the funding, KPCB’s partner Bing Gordon joined Luvocracy’s board.
The company intends to use the capital to continue to develop the platform.
Led by CEO, Nathan Stoll, Creative Director Christine Martinez, VP Engineering Ajay Agrawal, COO Andy Ellerhorst, and VP of Design Brooke Thompson, Luvocracy is building a social marketplace for people to buy recommendations (via pins, posts, tweets and shares) from people whose taste they trust.
