Rightware, a Espoo, Finland-based provider of embedded user interface (UI) software and performance benchmarking tools, closed a $5.2M Series B funding.
Backers included Inventure, Nexit Ventures, and new investor Finnish Industry Investment.
The company intends to use the capital to further expand global sales into automotive and consumer electronics and continue the development of the Kanzi UI Solution to start addressing new and emerging markets including, entertainment, mobile, tablet, smart TVs and other embedded verticals.
Led by CEO Jonas Geust, Rightware has developed User Interface technology and now provides mobile, automotive and other embedded industries with its patent pending Kanzi® solution for rapid 3D and 2D user interface design and deployment, which is adopted by car manufacturers such as Audi AG, suppliers such as Visteon (NASDAQ: VC).
The company also develops system performance analysis tools. Its product portfolio includes the Basemark product family for various benchmarking purposes, including benchmarks for OpenGL ES, OpenVG, OpenCL, Android, Linux, and Windows Mobile performance measurement.
Rightware has offices in Saratoga, CA, Shanghai, Taipei and Munich.
