Social Bicycles, a NYC-based bike sharing service, raised $1.1m in funding.
The round was led by David Rose (New York Angels) with participation from Esther Dyson, Amol Sarva, and Karl Ulrich. In conjunction with the funding, David Rose will join Social Bicycles’ board.
The company intends to use the funds to expand nationwide.
Led by Ryan Rzepecki, CEO, Social Bicycles uses wireless technology to provide operators and users with smart bikes in cities, universities, corporate campuses and residential properties (read here how the system horks).
