E la Carte, a Palo Alto, CA-based developer of a customer-facing tablet for restaurant tables and related hospitality industries called Presto, raised $13.5m in Series B funding.
The round was led by Intel Capital, with participation from Romulus Capital and other investors.
The company intends to use the funds to grow the team, expand deployments of Presto to more restaurants across the United States and improve product offerings.
Founded out of MIT by Rajat Suri, CEO, E la Carte equips restaurant tables with touch-screen Presto tablets, which enable guests to place orders, play games, and pay from their seats and restaurant staff to focus on highest-value elements of customer service.
To date, the company has thousand tablets deployed in restaurants across the U.S., including national chain partners like Genghis Grill, global restaurateur HMSHost, and Evergreen Restaurant Group, a franchisee of Outback Steakhouse.
