Vormetric, a San Jose, Calif.-based provider of data-centric security solutions, raised $15m in funding.
The round was led by Split Rock Partners, with participation from existing investors JK&B Capital, Quicksilver Ventures and Sigma Partners. In conjunction with the funding, Jim Simons, managing director at Split Rock Partners, is joining Vormetric’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the funds for growth in strategic market segments, development of product innovations and international expansion.
Led by CEO Alan Kessler, Vormetric provides enterprise, service provider and government customers with a data-centric security solution for physical, virtual and cloud environments. The company’s solution suite protects files, databases and applications — anywhere they reside — while maintaining application performance and avoiding encryption and key management complexity.
Vormetric serves over 1,100 customers in 20 countries worldwide.
