Wego.com, a Singapore-based travel search engine, raised US$17m in Series C funding.
The round was led by Crescent Point with participation from Victoria Capital and existing shareholder Tiger Global. In conjunction with the funding, Paul Bassat from Victoria Capital and a representative of Crescent Point joined Wego’s board of directors.
The company intends to use the capital product development, growth of the the team, expansion of marketing efforts.
Co-Founded by Ross Veitch and Craig Hewett, Wego developed a travel metasearch space across the Asia-Pacific region from its base in Singapore. The company provides tools that help travellers research trips, compare prices for flights and hotels across multiple websites and to book travel online.
The platform is now active in 52 markets and 30 languages globally with a particularly large user base in Indonesia, India, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
