Wireless Seismic, Inc., a Sugar Land, Texas-based provider of real-time and cable-less seismic data acquisition systems for the oil and gas industry, completed a $12.5m funding round.
Backers included existing shareholders Chesapeake Energy and Energy Ventures and Total Energy Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of French oil and gas company Total. In conjunction with the funding Christophe Tonion, Investment Manager, Total Energy Ventures, will join the company’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand internationally.
Led by Roy Kligfield, Chief Executive Officer, Wireless Seismic provides RT System 2, a scalable wireless seismic recording system with real-time data transmission that enables contractors to tackle the most challenging projects by delivering commercially compelling solutions for conventional surveys and for passive monitoring of hydraulic fracturing.
