Bottlenose Closes $3.6M in Series A Financing

Bottlenose, a social media analytics company, closed $3.6m in Series A financing.

The round was led by ff Venture Capital, with participation from Lerer Ventures, Transmedia and Advancit.

The company intends to use the funds for product expansion and recruitment in engineering, sales and marketing areas.

Founded in 2010 by Nova Spivack, CEO, and Dominiek ter Heide, Bottlenose applies proprietary natural language and statistical techniques to provide a real-time, enterprise-grade dashboard that enables customers to identify, anticipate and instigate the trends across major social networks, direct advertising and marketing initiatives, engage customer communities and gather industry intelligence.
Users include brands and agencies such as Pepsi, FleishmanHillard, Razorfish, and DigitasLBi.
The company, which intends to entry into the enterprise market this autumn (http://bottlenose.com/pro), has offices in Los Angeles, California, New York City, and Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
