Kiwi, a Palo Alto, CA-based mobile entertainment company focused on building Android games, raised $9m in funding.
The round was led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from AdMob founder Omar Hamoui, Guitar Hero co-creator Charles Huang, and SV Angels. Sequoia Partner Alfred Lin is a Board Member of Kiwi.
Founded in August 2011 by Shvetank Jain and CEO Omar Siddiqui, Kiwi creates character-driven games with entertaining mechanics. Titles include Shipwrecked, Brightwood Adventures, Enemy Lines and Mystery Estate, a mystery themed hidden object game. The company has 160+ employees (with an office in Bangalore, India) and is continuing to hire.
