ReelGenie, a Silver Spring, MD-based new online service that creates high-quality videos from a customer’s photos and digital media, secured $850k in seed funding.
Backers included Cal Simmons, CNF Investments, the Maryland Venture Fund, faculty members from the Wharton School, and angel investors.
The companyn intends to use the funds for product refinement prior to release in early fall and to finance business development and marketing efforts.
Led by David Adelman, founder and CEO, ReelGenie provides a video service that enables people to create videos about vacations, weddings, and other life events by combining a variety of multimedia content including photos, video clips, narration, music, and text — into dynamic films.
They can share videos online, download them, or purchase them as DVDs.
