Taxibeat, an Athens, Greece-based a taxi-hailing startup, raised $2m in new funding.
Backers included private individual investors.
Founded in May 2011 by Nikos Drandakis, CEO, and seeded by Athens-based OpenFund, Taxibeat provides a rating service that enables passengers to choose which car and driver they want to hail (via an at-a-glance info), and rate them afterwards.
Already present in Athens, Paris, Oslo, Bucharest, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, the company is launching in Mexico City in mid-July.
Taxibeat is available on iOS and Android platforms.
