Ticketbis, a Madrid, Spain-based startup that operates a marketplace to buy and sell tickets, raised €3.5m in funding.
Names of the backers (previous investors including venture capital firms, employees and two Spanish business angels) were not disclosed.
The company, which had received $1.15M (€900k) in Series C funding at the end of 2012 (read here), intends to use these funds to continue to expand in new markets.
Led by Ander Michelena, Jon Uriarte, and Beatriz Jimenez, Ticketbis is an online platform where users can buy and sell tickets for concerts, festivals, theater plays, soccer games.
Among others, the company is currently present in Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Russia with 6 million users and over 150,000 tickets sold.
