Zadara Storage, Ltd., an Irvine, CA-based provider of enterprise-class storage for the cloud in the form of Storage as a Service (STaaS), received a $3m investment from Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC).
Zadara intends to use the funds to expand the sales, support and engineering teams.
The two companies will work together to introduce innovative Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) products.
Founded in Israel in 2011 by Nelson Nahum, CEO, Zadara Storage allows both enterprises and service providers to buy enterprise block-and-file storage by the hour as its own Virtual Private Storage Array™ (VPSA™). It can serve as either primary storage (for applications) or secondary storage (for backup).
The company, which also has a development center in Israel, brings private storage to the public cloud via Amazon Web Services (AWS) and provides its off-premises solutions via partnerships with AWS, Dimension Data, Equinix, and others.
