drillMap Closes $6.5M Series A Funding

drillMap, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based platform for the aggregation, visualization and analysis of energy data, closed a $6.5m Series A funding.

The round was led by RockPort Capital with participation from Ridgewood Capital and ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP).

The company intends to use the funds to expand its data and analytics offering and to support the adoption of its platform by its customer base.

Led by CEO Jitesh Chanchani, drillMap provides companies in the energy industry with a web-based business intelligence platform that includes a comprehensive onshore North American database, integrated geospatial visualization, and insightful reporting tools. Its data analytics application aims to accelerate workflows and critical decision support processes for E&P operators and oilfield service companies.
Launched in February 2013, the solution has been adopted by more than 70 customers including some big oil and gas and service companies in the upstream energy industry.
