Hab Housing, a Frome, UK-based sustainable housing developer, has raised £1,904,540m in equity crowdfunding.
649 backers are new shareholders in the company, making investments ranging from £100 to £150k via Crowdcube. They now own a combined share of 25.39% of the equity and have been offered preferential terms on a Hab custom build home.
The company intends to use the funds to develop its business.
Founded in 2007 by writer, designer and broadcaster Kevin McCloud, Hab Housing (Hab stands for Happiness Architecture Beauty) builds beautiful and environmentally-friendly housing at an affordable price.
Haboakus, the company’s partnership with housing provider GreenSquare, completed its first scheme of 42 homes – The Triangle, Swindon – in 2011. A second 78-home scheme is now on the market in Stroud. Planning permission has been obtained for three projects in Oxford offering a total of 108 homes, retail space, a sports centre and two community centres.
