Remind101, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a classroom mobile communication platform, closed a $3.5m Series A financing.
The round was led by The Social + Capital Partnership, with participation from First Round Capital, entrepreneur Yuri Milner and additional seed-round investors. In conjunction with the funding, Chamath Palihapitiya, Founder and Managing Partner of The Social + Capital Partnership, joined the company’s board of directors.
Led by Brett Kopf, CEO and co-founder, Remind101 provides a mobile free messaging platform for K-12 teachers to communicate, transact and interact with their students and their students’ parents. They can sign up for an account, create classes or groups, gather subscribers, and start messaging (via text or email).
Launched 20 months ago, Remind101 is now use by more than 400,000 teachers.
It is available on iPhone, iPad and Android.
