French venture capital firm Serena Capital has held the first close of its second fund at €100m.
Backers included Bpifrance and European Investment Fund and family offices.
Serena II, which has a final target of €125m, will focus on early growth capital investments of €3m to €8m in a variety of technology sectors including internet and media, software, telecom and mobile, consumer electronics, IT services.
The geographical focus is France and Europe.
Launched in 2008 by Marc Fournier, Philippe Hayat and Xavier Lorphelin, the Paris-based firm has invested in AramisAuto, La Fourchette, Melty and SantéVet.
