Tuniu.com, a Chinese online travel startup, completed a $60m Series D funding.
Backers included Temasek, DCM and others.
The company intends to use the funds to expand and optimize its offerings, further enhance its technology platform and hire new people.
Established in October 2006 and led by Donald Yu, CEO, Conor Yang, CFO, and Zen Tang, CTO, Tuniu.com provides consumers with booking services of tourism products including packaged tours, self-service tours, self-driving tours, cruise tours, tickets to scenic spots and group tours, in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.
The company had previously raised:
– a Series A round by Gobi Partners,
– a Series B round led by DCM, and
– a Series C round led by Sequoia Capital, Highland Capital Partners and Rakuten Inc.
