Zoom Video Communications, a Santa Clara, CA-based cloud video conferencing platform, raised $6.5m in Series B financing round.
The round was led by Horizons Ventures Hong Kong, with participation from Patrick Soon-Shiong and existing investor Jerry Yang. In conjunction with the funding, Bart Swanson from Horizons Ventures joined Zoom Video’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to expand globally and accelerate product growth and innovation, particularly for the education and healthcare markets.
Founded in 2011 by Eric Yuan, CEO, Zoom Video Communications provides a cloud meeting platform for HD video, audio and screen sharing. It has the ability to have up to 25 participants and works across desktop, tablet, mobile and room systems. It is available for Mac, Windows, iOS, Android, and H.323/SIP room systems.
