GovToday, a MediaCity, UK-based events-led B2B marketing communications business, raised £700k in equity and debt funding.
The round was led by The North West Fund for Digital & Creative (managed by AXM Venture Capital) and was supported by Ronan Kearney, through his Osprey Capital vehicle. Mr Kearney followed on his earlier investment in GovToday. Further support was provided by loan finance from NatWest Bank.
The company intends to use the funds to extend its conference program into new policy areas and subjects and grow the sales resource.
Founded five years ago by Tony Farrar, Rob Hollis, and Richard Taylor, GovToday organizes high level conferences to allow the public sector to communicate policy, whilst generating revenues from commercial sponsors. The company, which also has a digital publishing arm, has offices in MediaCity and employs 48 staff.
