Groundfloor, a Raleigh, North Carolina-based real estate crowdfunding platform, raised a seed funding.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
The round was led by Bandwidth Labs and the American Underground.
The company intends to use the capital to bring a series of pilot projects to market later this year and early 2014.
Co-founded by Nick Bhargava and Brian Dally, CEO, Groundfloor operates a platform that connects independent real estate entrepreneurs with early-stage loans funded online by investors (have a look at how it works here).
The company also added new advisory board members including:
– Michael Goodmon, Vice President of Real Estate for Capitol Broadcasting;
– Jason Widen, a real estate developer and Executive Director and Co-Founder of HQ Raleigh; and
– Chris Matton, a prominent figure in the Triangle angel investor community and General Counsel at Bandwidth.com.
