IRIS.TV, a Los Angeles, CA-based video optimization startup, raised $1.7m in seed funding.

According to TechCrunch, Backers included angels Bob Jacobs, Nick Rau, Jimmy Barge, and Jor Law.

Led by Field Garthwaite, Chairman & CEO, Robert Bardunias, Chief Revenue Officer, Richie Hyden, Chief Operating Officer, Sunil Ingle, Chief Technology Officer, and Winston Owens, Chief Content Officer, IRIS.TV provides video publishers with tools to increase the value of their digital assets by delivering the right video and ad to the right viewer.
The company’s solution creates a personalized video channel for each viewer. Every time a viewer selects a video asset, a personalized channel is created. Its algorithm learns preferences through the interactive player and recommends content based on their behavior.
The platform is compatible with web, mobile and IPTV devices.

IRIS.TV was founded in February 2013.
