OrthoSensor, Inc., a Dania Beach, Fla.-based company that develops and commercializes intelligent orthopaedic devices and data services, closed its Series B-2 financing round bringing the total amount raised in the round to more than $48m.
Series B Investors included Dignity Health, Ziegler Meditech Equity Partners, and undisclosed strategic and angel investors.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to grow the VERASENSE product line, as well as to execute R&D, marketing and sales initiatives.
Led by Jay Pierce, President and Chief Executive Officer, OrthoSensor has developed the VERASENSE Knee System, an intelligent single-use device used in total knee replacement procedures to provide surgeons with real-time, quantifiable data on implant placement, soft tissue balance and limb alignment.
