PulseOn Closes €1M Seed Funding

PulseOn, an Espoo, Finland-based mobile wellness technology company, closed a €1m seed funding.

Backers included Mr. Otar Margania, and Mr. Olli Pohjanvirta.

The company intends to use the funds to finalize the productization of its optical heart rate monitor and enter the markets during the first half of 2014.

Founded in November 2012 and led by Tero Mennander, Managing Director, PulseOn is developing a comprehensive multipurpose heart rate monitoring solution, a wrist device for sports and 24/7 use based on its proprietary optical heart measurement technology. It can measure heart rate with multiple use cases for exercising, activity, recovery, stress, and sleep monitoring. The device is integrated with mobile apps.

The company, which currently has 13 employees, is a spin-off from Nokia.
