Socratic, a NYC-based open platform for education, raised its seed funding.
According to multiple reports, the deal amounted to $1.5m.
The round was led by Spark Capital, with participation from betaworks, Andreessen Horowitz Seed, David Tisch (BoxGroup), John Maloney, and Terrapin Bale.
Co-founded by Christopher Pedregal and Shreyans Bhansali, Socratic is developing an open platform that allows teachers to upload video lessons and K-12, college and graduate students can find information on school topics such as chemistry and physics.
The company aims to build a product and a community to cover every topic, in every language, in every teaching style.
It is now hiring.
