Innovative Trauma Care, an Edmonton, Canada-based bio-technology startup, raised $1.1m in its second round of financing.
Members of the VA Angels, an angel investing group, provided the funds.
The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and marketing efforts, as well as fully commercialize the product, reduce the cost of goods, and move the company towards a profitability position.
Founded in 2010 and led by Dennis F. Filips, Vice-Chairman, President, and Chief Medical Officer, Innovative Trauma Care is an early stage medical device company focused on developing and marketing point of injury solutions to address the common causes of preventable death in traumatic injury scenarios.
Its premier product is the ITClamp™ Hemorrhage Control System, which addresses massive hemorrhage.
