Kidaptive, a Palo Alto, CA-based edtech company focused on early learning, closed a $10.1m Series B financing.
The round was led by Formation 8, with participation from Menlo Ventures and the Stanford-StartX Fund as well as existing investors NewSchools Venture Fund and Prana Studios.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its platform.
Co-founded by P.J. Gunsagar, CEO, and Dylan Arena, chief learning scientist, Kidaptive provides a comprehensive early-learning curriculum and assessment framework to engage children and empower parents. It develops intelligent storytelling and research-based educational games in collaboration with scientists from Stanford.
The company plans to develop a total of 25 animated appisodes for Leo’s Pad: Preschool Kids Learning Series for iPad. Leo’s Pad is a series of interactive animated stories featuring animations, creative storytelling and embedded assessments spanning seven learning categories related to cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
