Mobli, a NYC-based social-mobile photo and video-sharing multi-platform, raised $60m in funding.
The round was led by Carlos Slim. América Móvil (NYSE: AMX), a provider of integrated telecommunications services in the Americas, made a strategic investment and reached a business collaboration arrangement to introduce Mobli’s innovative products to América Móvil’s mobile users.
América Móvil’s strategic investment will allow the company to launch and expand its visual search engine.
Originally launched in 2011 by Moshe Hogeg, CEO, Mobli is a multi-platform photo and video sharing community focusing on connecting people around common interests by allowing users to follow people, hashtags and locations straight to their feed.
Backers in the company include Leonardo DiCaprio and Kenges Rakishev, Chairman of the board.
