Walkbase Raises €3M in Series A Funding

walkbase_logoWalkbase, a Turku, Finland-based provider of a marketing optimization platform for brick & mortar retailers, raised €3m in Series A funding.

Backers included SBT Venture Capital and Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo, former CEO of Nokia, who joined Walkbase’s advisory board.

The company intends to use the funds to strengthen its sales, marketing and customer-insight teams, as well as expansion in EMEA and Russia.

Led by Tuomas Wuoti, CEO & Co-Founder, Walkbase has developed a platform to measure, understand and optimize customer behaviour, where smartphone-enabled shoppers move from online to offline channels while they search, research, and purchase products.
It offers online/offline campaign analysis and forecasting tools for CMOs who are continuing to digitalize retail marketing budgets. Current clients include specialty retail brands, fashion and apparel retailers, casinos, and airports.
