Seedrs, a London, UK-based crowdfunding platform, raised £2.1m in funding.
857 investors acquired a 29.09% equity stake in the company via its platform. It had initially sought £750k offering a 12.66% equity stake.
The company intends to use the funds to grow in the UK and Europe.
Co-founded by Jeff Lynn, CEO, and Carlos Silva, President, Seedrs is an online, cross-border platform for discovering and investing in startups. Launched in July 2012, it aggregates small “crowd” investments, processes and administers angel and group transactions, funds accelerator and incubator cohorts and creates products and structures to give a wide range of investor types exposure to startups as an asset class.
It is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
