According to a filing with the S.E.C. (read here), Swarm Mobile, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a retail analytics and customer engagement platform, raised $3.5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Icon Venture Partners.
Founded in 2012 by digital marketing veterans Rudd Davis and Ryan Denehy, Swarm has developed technology to track customers in-store through their smartphones, providing brick-and-mortar retailers with data, personalization and marketing techniques proper of e-commerce stores. It is compatible with leading POS platforms and Wi-Fi providers.
