SkyPhrase, a developer of natural language processing technology, has been acquired by Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO).
The amount of the deal was not disclosed. It is known that SkyPhrase’s team of four will join Yahoo Labs team in New York.
Founded by CEO Nick Cassimatis, the company has developed technology that enables computers to understand complex human language in specific areas (web analytics and football statistics) and allow developers to create natural language interfaces to their own data and applications.
Among others, backers in the company include Han Huang, and the Thiel Foundation.
