Brandtone, a Dublin, Ireland-based mobile marketing company in developing and emerging markets, closed a €14m third round of funding.
Backers included Syngenta Ventures (€4m) and existing investors Unilever Ventures and Verlinvest.
Brandtone provides global brands with mobile marketing solutions in developing and emerging markets.
The company intends to use the funds to establish and grow its operations (opening offices in New York and Jakarta) and invest in products and services to address increasing smartphone penetration, and the growth of financial and health services in these markets.
Led by Donald Fitzmaurice, Founder and CEO, Brandtone delivers mobile marketing campaigns for global brands based on the principle of “sustainable engagement”, which ensures long-lasting relationships with participants by ensuring that the consumer opts in, controls the interaction and receives tangible benefits and rewards.
Launched in 2010, the company has delivered campaigns for global brands including Unilever, PepsiCo, Kellogg’s and Mondelēz.
