BuildDirect, a Vancouver, BC-based online supplier of home improvement products, raised CDN$30m in Series B funding.
The round was led by Mohr Davidow Ventures with participation from existing investor BDC Venture Capital. In conjunction with the funding, Katherine Barr, General Partner, Mohr Davidow Ventures, joined BuildDirect’s board.
The company intends to use funds to develop its proprietary technology platform, expand its extensive product offerings and employee base.
Launched in 1999 and led by Jeff Booth, CEO, BuildDirect is an online wholesaler of flooring & building materials with customers in every state in the U.S. and in over 60 countries around the globe.
It offers a selection of flooring (laminate flooring, solid hardwood floors, engineered flooring, bamboo flooring, cork flooring, stone & tile flooring), kitchen & bath products like granite countertops and vanity tops, stone slabs and stainless steel sinks for interiors and a selection of decking, siding, roofing and landscape products for exteriors.
The company has 12 warehouse locations across North America.
