Microsoft Acquires Parature for $100M

microsoftMicrosoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT) acquired Parature, a Herndon, Va.-based provider of cloud-based customer engagement solutions.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed but reports said that the transaction could amount to $100m.

Led by Ching-Ho Fung, CEO and co-founder, Parature is a provider of cloud-based customer service software to midsize and enterprise organizations including Ask.com, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, IBM, Saba Software Inc., Tagged Inc. and Threadless.
It supports ticketing, mobile customer care on any device, social customer support, and chat for both traditional customer service scenarios and proactive sales engagement.
These capabilities aims to complement the existing Microsoft Dynamics CRM customer-care solution. Microsoft will continue to offer Parature solutions and support all new and existing customers as the company works to further enhance these offerings.
