StormWind, a Phoenix, Ariz.-based online training and e-learning company, raised $5m in Series C funding.
The round was led by GSV Capital Corp. (NASDAQ: GSVC).
The company intends to use the funds to hire an additional 200 employees over the next two years to increase sales, instructor, and creative teams.
Founded in 2009 by CEO Tom Graunke and veteran technology and training executive Corey Frank, StormWind provides clients with IT professionals looking for technical and online IT certification training and a custom corporate training solution that leverages HD online video and technology to train employees.
To date, the company’s trainers have instructed students in disciplines such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, CompTIA, Adobe, and others.
Clients include over 1,000 organizations such as Juniper, Bain & Company, Honda, P.F. Chang’s, Insight and the U.S. Navy.
