CloudFlare Acquires VC Backed StopTheHacker

StopTheHackerWebsite security and performance company CloudFlare acquired StopTheHacker, a San Francisco, California-based provider of SaaS web malware, security and reputation protection services.

The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

The acquisition aims to bring end-to-end security to CloudFlare and enables StopTheHacker to benefit from CloudFlare’s global scale.
The StopTheHacker development team (led by Peter Jensen, Anirban Banerjee and Michalis Faloutsos) is joining CloudFlare with head of sales, Ridley Ruth, who will stay on board as general manager responsible for sales and marketing.
The company will continue to develop the StopTheHacker product line and current partnerships with GlobalSign, DreamHost, Parallels, Host Europe, and Verio remaining in place. StopTheHacker will continue to be sold as a stand-alone product with a focus on bringing new customers and partners to our service.

StopTheHacker had raised $1.1m from Runa Capital and Brian NeSmith, former CEO of Bluecoat (read here).
