enModus, a Chepstow, Wales, UK-based developer of Smart Home communications technology, closed £1.5m in seed funding.
Backers included current investor Andromeda Capital Partners, and new investor Finance Wales.
Following the round, enModus has relocated to larger premises in to accommodate planned growth of its engineering and commercial team.
The company intends to use the funds to launch its product.
Founded in 2010 and led by Andy Heaton, CEO, enModus provides powerline communications technology, Wattwave, is Wattwave, a low-cost powerline communications protocol for appliances and buildings.
The company had received grants from the Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) under their Energy Entrepreneurs Fund (EEF).
