Little Bird, a Portland, Oregon-based provider of influencer engagement technology for sales, marketing and other smart businesses, raised $1.7m in seed funding.
The round, which brought total funding to $2.7m, was led by the Oregon Angel Fund. In conjnction with the funding, Oregon Angel Fund’s Drew Bernard joined Little Bird’s board.
The company, which also added Michael Jones as CTO and Ben Kaufman as COO, aims to use the funds to increase user engagement, commercialize its API, and grow sales and marketing efforts.
Led by Marshall Kirkpatrick, formerly the first writer hired at TechCrunch and co-editor of ReadWriteWeb, Little Bird allows marketers, PR professionals and sales people to build influencer target lists, to learn about their markets and to do competitive intelligence research, to find great content to engage with. It is already used by Fortune 500 companies.
