MyFitnessPal, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of a health and fitness platform, acquired Sessions, a San Francisco, CA-based personal coaching app.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed. In conjunction with the transaction, Sessions co-founders, Nick Crocker and Ben Hartney, will join MyFitnessPal along with the rest of their team.
Led by Mike Lee, MyFitnessPal integrates with 80% of wearable activity trackers (including Fitbit, Jawbone and Withings and other 40 partners) and has over 50 million registered users. The deal aims to combines its massive market presence with Sessions’ insights into behavior change coaching.
Founded in 2012, Sessions was backed by Rock Health, Collaborative Fund, SV Angel and Australia’s Blackbird Ventures.
